Abstract
The tomato line MP-1 excels the cultivars commonly used for transforma tion with regard to the speed of regeneration, percentage of transform ation and frequency of phenotypically normal transgenic plants. These characteristics, together with its tolerance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Cur l Virus, make line MP-1 very suitable for large scale generation of tr ansgenic tomatoes.
