G. Gerhard et A. Ioffe, FINITE-DIFFERENCE TIME-DOMAIN SIMULATION OF TRANSIENT PULSES WITH IMPROVED EXCITATION-FUNCTIONS, Electrical engineering, 78(4), 1995, pp. 219-222
New excitation-functions are presented that can be used to simulate tr
ansient pulses applying the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) metho
d. The functions have a seriously improved numerical behaviour in the
FDTD-grid compared with usually used excitation-functions with Gaussia
n upgrade form. It is also demonstrated how capacitors can be implemen
ted at the borders of the solution volume. An example of a shortened l
ine with a loaded capacitor at the entry is given to illustrate the ad
vantages of the new excitation-functions.
