Yf. Peng, TRANSMISSION CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EXCITED-STATE FARADAY OPTICAL FILTER AT 532 NM, Journal of physics. B, Atomic molecular and optical physics, 30(22), 1997, pp. 5123-5129
In this paper the calculations for a K Faraday filter at 532.33 nm tha
t can be used to detect the practical and important frequency-doubled
Nd:YAG laser are presented and discussed. Our model predicts a peak tr
ansmission of 50% and an equivalent bandwidth of 4 GHz for the filter
operating on the 4P(1/2) --> 8S(1/2) transition in potassium. The theo
retical results show the transmission characteristics of the filter ar
e relatively insensitive to the laser pump power and magnetic strength
. The laser pump powers required range from 0.8 to 6 mW cm(-2).
