Abstract
A facile and simple synthesis for ,2,3,4-tetrahydrothieno[2,3-6]-pyrim idin-4(3H)-one 3a is described and from this precursor, a series of hi therto unreported linear ,2-disubstituted-6,-dimethyl-[1H,5H]-thieno[2 ,3-d] [1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-5-ones 6a-0 have been synthesise d by the cyclocondensation of the corresponding mino-5,6-dimethylthien o[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-ones 5a,b with various one carbon donors.
