Abstract
Flavanones 2 were synthesized in good yields from ,3-dihydro-3-nitro-2 -phenyl-4H-1-benzopyran-4-ones 1 using a free radical process involvin g the tributyltin hydride/2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile system in reflux ing benzene.
