Abstract
A new sequential uniform design procedure is developed in this paper. The uniform design based number-theoretic method recently developed in statistics was used for optimisation of electropherotic separation. T he sequential procedure is introduced in order to reach the global opt imisation for complete separation. The procedure was illustrated by se parating five dithiocarbamate (DTC) compounds by capillary electrophor esis. These five DTC compounds, which failed to be separated by CE usi ng the technique with changing one variable one time, were completely separated by the proposed procedure, (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
