A highly diastereoselective dihydroxylation protocol has been develope
d for acyclic allylic alcohol derivatives leading to triol derivatives
with diastereoselectivity reversed to the classical osmylation (anti-
Kishi). Selectivities are acceptable for E-allylic derivatives 1, and
