We report a case of cryptococcal chorioretinitis discovered at ophthal
mological examination of a 68-year-old woman with acquired immune defi
ciency syndrome. This localization revealed cryptococcal septicemia, w
ithout involvement of the central nervous system unlike most cases rep
orted. Therapy with fluconazole (400 mg per day) led to gradual regres
sion of the chorioretinal lesion.
