Abstract
Reaction of enol silyl ethers of acetophenone, 2-acetylfuran, 2-acetyl thiophene, 2-acetylpyridine, cyclopentanone and cyclohexanone, and ket ene silyl acetals of arylacetic esters with a combination of lead(II) thiocyanate and (dichloroiodo)benzene affords the corresponding alpha- thiocyanated ketones and esters.
