THE EUROPEAN CONVENTION - A SUSPECTS CHARTER

This article discusses the impact on criminal due process rights of th e proposed integration of the European Convention on Human Rights into the law of the United Kingdom.(1) Ir is suggested that rather than ad opt the European Convention, it would be preferable to legislate for a national Bill of Rights which could accommodate an adversarial, commo n law system of justice.(2)
