E. Vandenberg et al., NEW RECORDS AND DESCRIPTIONS OF PLANT NEMATODES FROM RAIN-FOREST SOILIN FRENCH-GUIANA, WITH A FIRST DESCRIPTION OF MALES OF MESOCRICONEMA-SURINAMENSE (DE-GRISSE AND MAAS, 1970) LOOF AND DE-GRISSE, 1989 (TYLENCHIDA, NEMATA), Nematologica, 43(5), 1997, pp. 341-354
Redescriptions are given for Mesocriconema surinamense (De Ghisse & Ma
as, 1970) Loof & De Grisse, 1989, associated with Dicorynia guianensis
Amshoff and Rotylenchus caudaphasmidius Sher, 1965 associated with a
species of Aspidosperma Martins & Zuccharini in a French Guiana rain f
orest. These are new records for that country. Males of M. surinamense
are described for the first time and are characterized by a squared l
abial disc and a comparatively small bursa. Discocriconemella heynsi V
an den Berg & Marais, 1995 is proposed as a synonym of M. surinamense.
Discocriconemella limitanea (Luc, 1959) De Grisse & Loof, 1965 is rep
orted from soil around D. guianensis.
