Charged current reactions of v(e) on C-12 have been studied using a mu
(+) decay-at-rest v(e) beam from the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility
. More than 500 events from the exclusive reaction C-12(v(e),e(-))N-12
(g.s.) were measured in a large Liquid Scintillator Neutrinro Detector
(LSND). The observed energy dependence of the cross section and the a
ngular distribution of the outgoing electron agree well with theoretic
al expectations. Measurements are also presented for inclusive transit
ions to N-12 excited states, C-12(v(e),e(-))N-12 and compared with th
eoretical expectations. Results are consistent with a recent continuum
random phase approximation (CRPA) calculation.
