Abstract
A semiempirical calculation of the 6s-7s Stark amplitude alpha in Cs h as been performed using the most accurate measurements and calculation s of the electromagnetic amplitudes available. This is then used to ex tract the parameters of the electroweak theory from experimental data. The results are alpha=269.0(1.3)a(0)(3), weak charge of Cs Q(W)=-72.4 1(25)(expt)(80)(theor), deviation from the standard model S=-1.0(.3)(e xpt)(1.0)(theor) and the limit on the mass of the extra Z boson in the SO(10) model M-Zx> 550 GeV.
