Abstract
We study doubly excited S-1,3(e), P-1,3(o), and D-1,3(e) resonances in He below the n = 2 He+ threshold by the saddle-point complex-rotation method with B-spline functions. We calculated 78 resonances. Recently , accurate measurements on the P-1(o) have been performed, which allow detailed comparisons with our ab initio theoretical results. For P-1( o), we calculate six members in the (2)(0,1)(n)(+)(2 less than or equa l to n less than or equal to 7) series, five members in the (2)(1,0)(n )(-)(3 less than or equal to n less than or equal to 7) series, and fo ur members in the (2)(-1,0)(n)(0)(3 less than or equal to n less than or equal to 6) series. The resonance energies and widths are compared with accurate experimental and theoretical results. The agreement is g ood. For other symmetries, the energies and widths are also calculated up to n congruent to 7, and are also in good agreement with available experimental and theoretical results. [S1050-2947(97)01912-4].
