D. Xia et al., CATALYTIC BEHAVIORS OF ZEOLITE-SUPPORTED POLYVINYL ALCOHOL-AMINO ACID-METAL COMPLEXES IN HYDROGENATION, Polymers for advanced technologies, 8(11), 1997, pp. 641-643
Two kinds of zeolite-supported polyvinyl alcohol-amino acid-metal comp
lexes, zeolite-polyvinyl alcohol-L-proline-palladium complex and zeoli
te-polyvinyl alcohol-L-alanine-platinum complex have been prepared by
a very simple method. It has been found that the Pd complex can cataly
ze the hydrogenation of styrene, vinyl acetate, cyclohexene and cycloh
exanone, and the Pt complex can catalyze the hydrogenation of o-cresol
, m-cresol and alpha-phenylethanol to obtain corresponding products un
der 1 atm H-2 and 20 degrees C. All the yields amounted to 100%. These
catalysts are very stable and can be reused. (C) 1997 by John Wiley &
