Abstract
1-alkyl- and 1-arylpyridylethenes were hydroformylated using rhodium c atalysts in good yield, the regioselectivity the 1'-aryl-2-vinylpyridi ne hydroformylation occurs with the exclusive formation of the more br anched aldehyde, whereas in the case of aryl substituted 1'-aryl-4-vin ylpyridine only the more linear aldehyde was detected, Attempts to rat ionalize the results have been made.
