Abstract
The perfect function of pipes and vessels is an essential prerequisite for the availability, capacity and security of the equipment in the c hemistry and power engineering. The quality assurance of such pipe sys tems demands careful analysis of the present state including nondestru ctive testing and stress calculation by the help of FEM, lifetime pred iction, and derived from this, specific maintenance. Modem CAD-softwar e gives the possibility to store the results of visual control, of non destructive testing and of strength calculation directly in the isomet ry and otherwise retrieve the test result dates from the isometry. A p owerful notebook for ultrasonic measurements was developed, to realize all described actions under field conditions. Trends of corrosion mon itoring by electric measurements, polarization resistance measurements , acoustic emission and electrochemical noise measurements are discuss ed.
