Abstract
This article reviews the definition, epidemiology, and etiology of opp ositional defiant and conduct disorders, as well as the spectrum of be haviors manifested by rebellious adolescents. Assessment strategies an d management concepts that the pediatrician can employ are outlined. A review of psychopharmacologic agents useful for the treatment of aggr essive adolescents is also provided.
