Abstract
Stress is universal in the Lives of today's adolescents and has the po tential to impact their health and well-being. High levels of stress m ay be associated with distress and somatic symptoms, leading the adole scent to seek health care. Evaluation and management of adolescents wi th psychosomatic problems is challenging and requires an awareness of the role of stress and other psychosocial factors in the development a nd maintenance of the patients symptoms.
