Abstract
The adolescent presenting with ''cardiovascular'' complaints is quite common; however, to diagnose true cardiac pathology is rare. In the fi rst section of this review, we discuss the common complaints that are often felt to be ''cardiac'' in origin, and we review an appropriate d iagnostic work-up. The second section of this review is devoted to com mon cardiac diseases in adolescents frequently encountered by tile pri mary care physician.
