Abstract
It is shown that for a cosmic body under the effect of its own gravita tional field, it is energetically efficient to obtain an electric pola rization if the mass of the body is large enough. This effect explains the appearance of magnetic moments of cosmic bodies and their depende nce on the angular momenta.
