L. Turcekova et al., IMMUNOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF LARVAL ANTIGENS OF TRICHINELLA-SPIRALIS AND TRICHINELLA-PSEUDOSPIRALIS, Helminthologia, 34(4), 1997, pp. 241-243
Antigens were isolated from larvae and excretory/secretory products of
Trichinella spiralis and T. pseudospiralis. Both antigens were analys
ed using Western blot. In somatic T. spiralis larvae antigens were ide
ntified bands with 18, 43, 47, 65, 80 and 94 kDa whereas bands 65 and
80 kDa were not identified in antigen T. pseudospiralis. An analysis w
ith the immunoglobulins isolated from the hyperimmune serum revealed t
he presence of six bands ranging from 43-70 kDa in T. spiralis and 3 b
and (43, 48 and 70 kDa) in T. pseudospiralis. The number of excretory/
secretory fractions was dependent on the length of incubation larvae o
f T. spiralis. The results are significant for the immunodiagnosis of
larval trichinellosis.
