Abstract
Patients undergoing high-dose chemotherapy for cancer are at a high ri sk of infections caused by unusual microorganisms. Previous chemothera py, use of indwelling catheters and prior antibiotic treatment are com mon predisposing factors. We present a case of septicaemia due to a ra re non-fermentative bacillus, CDC group IV c-2, found in the blood and venous catheter from a patient with a testicular germ cell tumour und ergoing high-dose consolidation chemotherapy.
