Abstract
3-Hydroxyflavone coordinates to Cu-II together with the auxiliary liga nd 2,2'-bipyridine to form a stable cationic flavonolato-copper(II) co mplex, [Cu(C15H9O3)(C10H8N2)]ClO4. The complex has distorted square py ramidal geometry. Two O atoms of the flavonol and the N atoms of the c helating bpy ligand are in the basal position, while a perchlorate O a tom occupies the apical position.
