Abstract
The structure of the title compound, [Zn(C10H8N2)(3)]S2O3.7H(2)O, cons ists Of cations, Zn(bipy)(3)(2+) (where bipy is bipyridine), and anion s, S2O32-. There is an unusually short S ... S contact of 3.361(3)Angs trom between the anions and a complex hydrogen-bonding scheme involvin g the seven molecules of water of crystallization.
