Abstract
From the ethanolic extract of the whole plants of Pedicularis semitort a, nine known glycosides, syringaresinol-4 ''-O-beta-n-monoglucopyrano side, cistanoside D, cistanoside C, verbascoside, isoverbascoside, mus saenoside, shanzhiside methyl ester, euphroside and aucubin along with one new phenylpropanoid, cis-isoverbascoside and a mixture of erythro - and threo-neolignans, named semitortoside A and semitortoside B, res pectively, have been isolated. Their structures have been elucidated m ainly by spectral evidence.
