Abstract
We employ the statistical reactions with memory approach to study osci llating excitation functions in the Si-28(E-lab = 120 - 126.75 F/MeV)Ni-64 strongly dissipative reaction and the time evolution of the coll ision process, The nonself-averaging of the oscillations in the excita tion functions is interpreted as indication of quantum chaos and dampi ng of the coherent nuclear rotation in dissipative heavy-ion collision s.
