S. Tokarzewski et Jj. Telega, S-CONTINUED FRACTION METHOD FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF A COMPLEX DIELECTRIC-CONSTANT OF 2-COMPONENTS COMPOSITE, Acta applicandae mathematicae, 49(1), 1997, pp. 55-83
The aim of this contribution is to examine the S-continued fraction me
thod of obtaining bounds on the effective dielectric constant epsilon(
e) of a two-phase composite for the case where the dielectric coeffici
ents epsilon(1) and epsilon(2) of both components are either complex o
r real. The starting point for our study is a power expansion of epsil
on(e)(z) at z = 0, z = epsilon(2)/epsilon(1) - 1. The obtained S-conti
nued fraction bounds have an interesting mathematical structure conven
ient for theoretical and numerical investigations of epsilon(e). They
also agree with the earlier estimations reported by Bergman and Milton
. Specific examples of calculation of bounds on epsilon(e) by the S-co
ntinued fraction method are also provided.
