The construction of a moving spectroelectrochemical cell for surface R
aman spectroscopy is described, Spectral distortions due to the photod
egradation of the surface-bound species are reduced significantly, per
mitting the use of a higher incident laser power to enhance the Raman
signal. The performance of the cell is demonstrated with the surface-e
nhanced resonance Raman spectra from the protein cytochrome P450(cam)
(CYP101) adsorbed on a silver electrode. (C) 1997 by John Wiley & Sons
