Abstract
The gene for barley endopeptidase B (EPB) has been expressed in the fi lamentous fungus Trichoderma reesei from the cbh1 promoter. The EPB si gnal sequence allowed secretion of over 90% of the recombinant protein . Yields reached about 500 mg of immunoreactive protein per liter and exceeded values for any other protein derived from a higher eukaryotic organism produced in T. reesei.
