Abstract
Cathodic electrosynthesis of TiO2, RuO2 and composite RuO2-TiO2 films on Pt substrates was performed via hydrolysis of TiCl4 and RuCl3 . nH( 2)O salts dissolved in water or mixed methyl alcohol-water solvent. Th e weight of the TiO2 and RuO2 deposits was studied versus the duration of deposition. The crystallization behavior of the deposits has been studied. A possible mechanism of electrosynthesis is discussed. (C) 19 98 Elsevier Science B.V.
