Abstract
The paper reports on the basic characteristics of the catch compositio n, distribution and seasonal variation of setnet fisheries in the Yell ow and Bohai Seas. There were 126 species in the samples, including 10 2 fish species, 17 crustaceans, 5 Cephalopoda, and 2 Medusa species. B oth the number of species and biomass of the setnet catches show geogr aphical variations. The fishery resources in the region exhibited seas onal variations, which are reflected in the yields. The highest biomas s is in spring (49.6%); autumn comes next at 34.25%, with 11.25% in su mmer, and only 4.9% in winter. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
