G. Contini et al., INFRARED STUDY OF 2-MERCAPTABENZOTHIAZOLE AND 2 OF ITS DERIVATIVES ADSORBED ON PBS, International journal of mineral processing, 51(1-4), 1997, pp. 283-291
An infrared study has been carried out on 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and
two of its derivatives (6-methyl-2-mercaptobenzothiazole and 6-methoxy
-2-mercaptobenzothiazole) adsorbed on the PbS (galena) surface from aq
ueous solution. Different molecular structures were tested in order to
observe the influence of the ring substituents on the surface interac
tion. The Pb bulk complexes of the studied molecules and the PbS surfa
ce treated in their aqueous solutions have been compared. The differen
ce in adsorption on PbS was studied by varying the concentration of th
e reagents. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
