Abstract
The paper is concerned with the linear theory of microstretch elastic bodies. First we establish a spatial decay estimate of Saint-Venant ty pe in the context of equilibrium theory. Then we study the decay of el astic energy in the dynamical theory. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
