Abstract
We have investigated the superconducting (SC) properties of ultra-thin YBa2Cu3O7-x layers in YBa2Cu3O7-x/PrBa2Cu3O7 superlattices in which t he coupling between adjacent YBa2Cu3O7-x layers is modulated by varyin g thicknesses of insulating PrBa2Cu3O7. In particular, we have formula ted a phenomenological model that accounts for the dependence of the Y Ba2Cu3O7-x transition temperature on both the thickness of and the sep aration between YBa2Cu3O7-x layers. The results of our analysis are co mpared with previous studies of conventional low-T-c thin film systems .
