A prospective invasive hemodynamic evaluation in 11 unselected patient
s with medically refractory chronic atrial fibrillation undergoing rad
iofrequency catheter ablation of the atrioventricular junction was per
formed. The resultant rate regulation and control caused a hemodynamic
and symptomatic improvement despite persistent fibrillation at the at
rial level.
