Lp. Ponomarenko et al., STEROL COMPOSITION OF LINNEUS-TORQUATUS (NEMERTINI) ANOPLA, Comparative biochemistry and physiology. B. Comparative biochemistry, 111(4), 1995, pp. 575-577
The sterol fraction from the marine worm Linneus torquatus Coe (phylum
Nemertini, class Anopla, family Lineidae) has been isolated, separate
d by HPLC and preparative TLC on AgNO3-impregnated silica gel, and ste
rols identified using GC, GC-MS and NMR spectroscopy, It was shown tha
t the fraction contains at least 12 sterols belonging mainly to Delta(
5,22), Delta(5,24(28)) and Delta(5) series, The major sterol component
s were 24-methylcholesta-5,24(28)-dien-3 beta-ol, cholesta-5,22E-dien-
3 beta-ol, 24-nor-cholesta-5,22-dien-3 beta-ol and cholesterol.
