Aa. Emelyanov, ON CERTAIN CONDITIONS FOR INCREASING THE BREAKDOWN STRENGTH OF VACUUMINSULATION, Instruments and experimental techniques, 40(5), 1997, pp. 647-650
Experimental results on high-voltage nanosecond conditioning of all-me
tal and film electrodes are presented. It is shown that the regime of
treatment, at which the duration of high-voltage pulses acting on the
electrodes of the vacuum gap equals the delay time of the breakdown in
vacuum, is optimal for conditioning with electric pulses. Under optim
al conditions, the conditioning efficiency rises with increasing pulse
power.
