Abstract
Domain stability in patterned exchange stabilized MR/SAL heads is stud
ied via micromagnetic modeling. It is found that the domain instabilit
y can be: eliminated by making the stripe short and setting the initia
l magnetization direction in the SAL layer in the opposite direction o
