Ma. Huels et al., SUBSTRATE SENSITIVITY OF DISSOCIATIVE ELECTRON-ATTACHMENT TO PHYSISORBED ANILINE, Chemical physics letters, 279(3-4), 1997, pp. 223-229
We report dissociative electron attachment (DEA) D- yields, at electro
n energies, E-o < 14 eV, from small quantities of aniline-d(7) physiso
rbed on Pt or on films of O-2 or Kr. Compared to 5.5 monolayers (ML) o
f pure aniline-d(7), the DEA signal from 0.6 ML of aniline-d(7) on Pt
is shifted down in E-o; for 0.6 ML of aniline-d(7) on 5 ML of O-2 the
DEA signal is quenched. In the latter case, we observe reactive scatte
ring of O- in the hydrocarbon overlayer. For 0.2 ML of aniline-d(7) on
35 ML of Kr, we observe charge and energy transfer from negatively ch
arged excitons, Kr(-), to co-adsorbed aniline-d(7). (C) 1997 Elsevier
