A COMPUTER-SIMULATION OF HUMAN PERCEPTION OF COLOR

Mathematical models are presented which allow one to determine the amo unt of color perceived by the eye. Known as color vision receptivity i ndex (CVRI), variations in contrast intensity, receptive frequency fac tor, and the densities of the transmission media are used as the predi ctive variables. Using the CVRI model, it is shown that under constant receptive frequency factor, CVRI only depends on the n-power differen ces of contrast intensities. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
