Nonlinear intermodulation coupling in ferrite junctions have been solv
ed analytically for the first time. Primary microwave excitations of t
he ferrite junction at frequencies f(1) and f(2) will induce effective
rf current at frequency 2f(1) - f(2) which generate intermodulation f
ield within the ferrite satisfying the boundary conditions at the junc
tion boundary. The static demagnetizing field has been shown to have a
n adverse effect in increasing intermodulation coupling. Our calculati
ons compare reasonably well with experiments. (C) 1997 American Instit
