Wl. He et al., INVESTIGATION OF BIS-[1-(DIMETHYLAMINO)-2-PROPANLATO] COPPER(II) AS AWOOD PRESERVATIVE, Forest products journal, 47(11-12), 1997, pp. 69-74
Bis-[1-(dimethylamino)-2-propanolato] copper (II) (CuDMAP) in the vapo
r phase was used to treat oriented strandboard (OSB) to investigate it
s potential as a wood preservative. Treatment time and temperature gre
atly influenced copper penetration and retention. The leachability of
the CuDMAP in OSB was similar to that of ammoniacal copper sulfate (AC
S). The efficacy of CuDMAP as a preservative was assessed with soil bl
ock tests and compared with that of ACS and chromated copper arsenate
(CCA). Results were inconclusive as to the efficacy of CuDMAP against
fungal decay.
