A SYNOPSIS OF MARASMIELLUS IN THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS

Sixteen taxa of Marasmiellus (Agaricales, Tricholomataceae) are report ed from the southern Appalachian Mountains based on the examination of type and voucher specimens. Marasmiellus appalachienensis is describe d as a new species, and Marasmiellus flaccidus is redescribed. A dicho tomous key to aid in diagnosis, citations for sources of comprehensive descriptions and illustrations, and a list of material examined are p resented.
