Abstract
The magnetic relaxation in small (of order of hundreds nanometers) ant iferromagnetic particle is considered. To explain very small tunneling (activated) volume in the particle exhibiting a single-domain behavio r, we propose to account for the role of defects. The relaxation proce ss is considered as a sequence of small jumps in a potential created b y defects. Kinetics of this process is considered. (C) 1997 American I nstitute of Physics.
