Abstract
At PSI a proton beam with 84 MeV kinetic energy is used in order to in vestigate the uniformity of light collection and the light yield with avalanche photodiode (APD) and photomultiplier (PMT) readout. New type s of Hamamatsu APDs have been coupled to PbWO4 scintillators. The obta ined results are compared with the PMT response. This contribution is part of the CMS ECAL group research.
