Temperature dependences of the hydrodynamic properties of three combli
ke liquid-crystalline poly(phenylbenzoatemethylsiloxanes) containing a
lkyl spacers with 4-7 carbon atoms the side chains, the molecular mass
es of mobile particles in the solutions of these polymers, and analogo
us properties of the low-molecular-mass compounds modeling their side
chains were determined by the methods of viscometry, translational dif
fusion, and sedimentation analysis. Dilute solutions of these compound
s in benzene at temperatures below 26 degrees C exhibit a temperature-
reversible aggregation of molecules. The most stable dimers and trimer
s were observed for the molecules possessing longest aliphatic ''tails
'' and spacers.
