Abstract
The influence of oil pollution on activity of the nitrogen metabolism enzymes in forest grey heavy loamy soil was studied for many years in the field and laboratory. Oil pollution inhibited activity of protease , asparaginase, glutaminase, as well as nitrate and nitrite reductases , but enhanced activity of urease and hydroxylamine reductase. Aromati c fractions of oil inhibited all studied enzymes of nitrogen metabolis m.
