Kr. Bruckdorfer, MODULATORY ROLE OF LIPOPROTEIN OXIDATION ON PLATELET-VESSEL WALL INTERACTIONS, Prostaglandins, leukotrienes and essential fatty acids, 57(4-5), 1997, pp. 493-497
Oxidation of plasma lipoproteins may play an important role in atherog
enesis, but there are also indications that that this process of oxida
tion may influence other facets of cardiovascular disease, namely bloo
d flow and thrombosis. The evidence that oxidation of low-density lipo
proteins may modulate the action of the native lipoproteins with respe
ct to endothelium-dependent relaxation, platelet activation and tissue
factor activity is reviewed.
