H. Kouno et al., VACUUM EFFECTS AND COMPRESSIONAL PROPERTIES OF NUCLEAR-MATTER IN CUTOFF FIELD-THEORY, Progress of theoretical physics, 98(5), 1997, pp. 1123-1137
The compressional properties of nuclear matter, including vacuum effec
ts, are studied in the cutoff field theory. In the Hartree approximati
on, the low-energy effective Lagrangian is derived in the framework of
renormalization group methods. The coefficients are determined in suc
h a way that the physical results depend little on the value of the cu
toff which is conveniently introduced into the theory. It is shown tha
t, to reproduce the empirical data of the nucleus incompressibility, i
t is favorable for the incompressibility of nuclear matter to be 250 s
imilar to 350 MeV.
